World Accreditation Day (#WAD2024)

On June 9, AIHA Laboratory Accreditation Programs will join its accreditation body counterparts around the world in celebrating World Accreditation Day (WAD.) This is a global initiative established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) to highlight the value of accreditation. This year’s theme is Accreditation: Empowering Tomorrow and Shaping the Future. Our accredited laboratories and stakeholders are invited to read the joint statement by the IAF and ILAC Chairs Joint Statement_WAD2024 (ilac.org)

Our accredited laboratories are also encouraged to use the resources listed below to learn more and to educate their customers/stakeholders about WAD 2024. This information includes examples of how accreditation supports this year’s theme as digitization, new technologies and sustainability issues continue to change our world.

• A downloadable brochure and a poster supporting this year’s World Accreditation Day theme can be found on the ILAC website here

AIHA LAP, which is recognized by ILAC for the scope of testing, also encourages its laboratories and stakeholders to join us in the celebration of WAD 2024 on their social media using the hashtag #WAD2024 in addition to using the WAD 2024 materials listed above.
